The smash-hit Headingley café, which has taken Leeds by storm and featured on BBC News and Business Insider, is bringing a delicious new twist to the Festival of Lights.

Leeds’ viral frozen yoghurt sensation KefiYo is bringing a little extra sweetness to Diwali, unveiling a new limited edition flavour to celebrate the Festival of Lights.

The colourful Mediterranean-inspired café, which has taken Leeds by storm since opening in Headingley this summer, is getting into the festive spirit with a delicious new Diwali-inspired frozen yoghurt.

The special flavour Barfi will be available during this year’s Diwali festival, joining KefiYo’s existing line-up and giving customers even more ways to create their perfect frozen yoghurt bowl.

The launch marks another exciting moment for the independent Leeds business, which has enjoyed a phenomenal few months since opening its doors on Ash Road.

With queues regularly stretching around the block, colourful creations taking over social media and a devoted following among students, families and food lovers, KefiYo has quickly established itself as one of the city’s most exciting new food destinations.

Its smash-hit, feel-good launch has also caught the attention of national media, with KefiYo featured on BBC News, Business Insider and more, helping put the Leeds-born brand firmly on the map.

Now, the café is continuing to bring fresh flavours and new experiences to its growing community, with its Diwali specials offering a delicious way to join in the celebrations.

Known as the Festival of Lights, Diwali is a time of joy, togetherness and celebration, often marked by sharing food and sweet treats with family and friends. It’s a spirit that fits naturally with KefiYo’s own philosophy of bringing people together through delicious food and feel-good experiences. The name KefiYo takes inspiration from the Greek word kefi, meaning joy, passion and zest for life, something reflected in the café’s colourful interiors, playful flavours and uplifting atmosphere.

Customers can already choose from a delicious range of frozen yoghurt favourites, including passion fruit, biscoff, apple pie, strawberry, tiramisu, chocolate orange, and natural alongside vegan coconut.

Every bowl can be customised with unlimited standard toppings at no extra charge, with selected premium toppings and superfoods also available, making each visit a chance to try something different.

Gagan Chera, Co-Founder of KefiYo, said: “We’re so excited to celebrate Diwali with our Leeds community and bring something a little extra special to KefiYo with this amazing new flavour. Diwali is all about joy, togetherness and celebrating with the people around you, which is exactly what KefiYo is about. The love and support we’ve received since opening has been incredible, and we wanted to create something fun and delicious that everyone can enjoy together. We can’t wait for everyone to try this new flavour and celebrate with us!”

Beyond its frozen yoghurt offering, KefiYo is building a community around food, fitness and wellbeing, with Pilates pop-ups, run clubs and a wider menu including açaí bowls, smoothies, speciality coffees and matcha.

With its latest limited-edition flavour, the Leeds favourite is showing no signs of slowing down, giving customers another reason to discover what all the fuss is about.

KefiYo’s Diwali new flavour, Barfi, will be available during this year’s Diwali festival at 17 Ash Road, Headingley, Leeds LS6 3JJ.
